About

A bar. On Coolidge. Since 1996.

Same corner, same room, same people at the same end of the bar. It isn’t a new bar, and it doesn’t try to be one.

The 14 screens went in with the 2007 remodel, and they’re still the reason people pick this place on a Sunday. There’s a pool table and a TouchTunes jukebox. The back bar has been built up over years, not stocked in a week.

Nobody here is going to tell you about a concept.

Hospitality

The bartender remembers your drink. That is the whole strategy.

Everybody who walks in gets the same thing: a hello, a screen with their game on it, and a drink poured the way they like it. Call at half past midnight and somebody picks up. Some of the regulars have been coming since the doors opened. Come twice and you’re one.

Not loud. Not fussy. No cover.

Next door

The pizza is Pauli’s.

Pauli’s Pizza is the pizza shop next door: same family, its own name, its own oven. Round, thin, or Detroit-style deep dish. It comes through the wall and lands on the bar till 10 PM.
